The Tennessee Department of Health is issuing a request for grant proposals for this new funding opportunity. This grant is to fund projects that reduce diabetes or boost cardiovascular health through healthy eating or physical activity. Construction is not eligible for this grant. There is no maximum for this grant, but there is only $670,670.21 for the entire State. The "intent to propose" deadline is July 31st but this is not mandatory; the deadline for applications is August 13th.
Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program
The purpose of this grant is to maximize the number of children under the age of six protected from lead poisoning by assisting local governments in undertaking programs to identify and control lead-based paint hazards in housing.

Site Development Grant Program
Letter of Intent Deadline: August 21, 2025
With funding approved through the legislature for the Rural Economic Opportunity Fund, TNECD is investing in site development grants. This grant opportunity will improve many of TNECD’s nationally recognized Select Tennessee certified sites and prepare other sites to achieve certification
TN ECD Downtown Improvement Grant Program
Deadline: September 12, 2025
Tennessee Main Street Programs and communities that have participated in the Tennessee Downtowns program in Rounds 1-8 and have an active Design Committee are eligible for a grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) for downtown improvements. Grants of up to $500,000 will be awarded to organizations that can illustrate the need for improvements and the ability to execute an effective design plan for eligible properties in their downtown district.

Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day Mini-grant
Deadline: August 22, 2025
Safe Routes Partnership is offering grants of either $500 or $1000 to support Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day on November 14th. Projects awarded will align with the goal of Ruby Briges Walk to School Day: promoting constructive dialogue about anti-racism and anti-bullying; and inspiring young people to make positive changes in their community.
Community Grant Program

As part of its ongoing commitment to rural communities across the country, Foundation Rural Service offers aid for communities served by NTCA members through its annual Community Grants Program. These grants are designed to provide support to a variety of local efforts to build and sustain a high quality of life in rural America. Funds range from $250 to $5,000. The grants awarded each November support a variety of projects concentrated in four major categories: Business and Economic Development, Community Development, Education, Telecommunications Applications.
